Hello, I have a 2014 chevy cruze lt 1.4t auto trans with 86k on the odo. My manual says a ATF change should be done in severe interval at 45k and normal interval at 95k. Since I baby my car i'd say i'm right in between. Well today I got the job done, I did not do a flush I just did a drain and fill and I have a few questions about what i've done.
1. The current ATF change method involves performing two drains and re-fills of ATF, which replaces approximately 70% of the old fluid, leaving 30% still in the transmission. It is far from ideal and wastes 25% of the new fluid. The ability to flush out 95-99% of the fluid will provide better results. 2.
To be done properly you would first top the fluid up, attach the bleeder, then bleed one circuit (one brake or the clutch). Detach the bleeder, refill the reservoir, reattach and bleed another circuit and so on. Done this way you would never let the reservoir go dry and never push air into the system. '12 ECO MT .
