God of War Ragnarok has the option of transferring saves from PS4 to PS5. This is helpful if you started the game on PlayStation 4 and want to continue it on PlayStation 5 without restarting the whole story. You can do it in the PS4 System tab. The option will only work if the PS4 saves are on the PS5 disk. You can:

Go to the Settings menu > Select Storage. Choose Saved Data > Select God of War Ragnarok. Press the Options button on the controller > Select the saved game data files (one or multiple). Hit Delete and confirm the task to complete it. Once done, make sure to reboot the console to apply changes.

From here on out it’s get it on the console you own and if you get a PS5 down the line you have to pay for the upgrade. Now this is for all future Sony exclusives. A fan asked whether or not it would be necessary to upgrade to a PlayStation 4 Pro. Of course, you don’t have to upgrade; the game will work more than fine on the regular PS4. However, if you do have a PS4 Pro, you’ll be able to play God of War in glorious 4K. That is, if you own a 4K TV. If not, you’ll still get more out of God of War. The PS5 disc contains the PS5 version, it'd be like putting a PS2 game into a PS1. Granted they could still let you download the PS4 version if you try and do that, but this is Sony we're talking about.Whats funny is that there are games out there like Elden Ring where the performance at launch was better on the Pro than the ps5. It’s not like Xbox, you have to download the save from psplus to the console manually.
